    On July 4, the Ukrainian-Chinese Economic Forum has taken place in the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Coliseum Hall, the fourth floor): The prospects of cooperation within the One Belt, One Road Initiative.

    “The main goal of the forum is to discuss the current state and prospects of further development of the Ukrainian-Chinese relations within the global initiative of the People’s Republic of China “One Belt, One Road”. After all, Ukraine expects not only China’s participation in the implementation of projects in our country but also specific investment proposals from the Chinese business”, said Valery Korol, the vice-president of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

    Ukraine was visited by an official delegation of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, as well as a large delegation of representatives of the Chinese business and the Chinese trade organizations.

    Guests from China are representatives of various industries and spheres, in particular: tourism industry; legal sphere; production of fans, smoke removal systems, lifting devices; production of ceramics; Information Technology; Financial services; investment activities; construction and property sale; engineering consulting and construction of engineering structures; chemical industry; electronics; trade and others.

    At the forum, negotiations between representatives of Ukrainian and Chinese business were conducted in the B2B format.

    It should also be noted that the Ukrainian-Chinese International Business Center was the organizer of the event.

    Today, 65 countries have joined the One Belt, One Road Initiative. The volume of investment funds already invested in the project is estimated at 5 trillion dollars.

     

    On July 5, the CCI of Ukraine jointly with the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) solemnly signed the Memorandum of Accession of the CCI of Ukrainian to the Business Council of the Silk Road. It has served creation in Ukraine the Center for Assistance to the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative.

    Gennady Chizhikov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine reports that: “The opening of the Center for Assistance to the initiative One Belt, One Road in the CCI of Ukraine will enable Ukraine to be more actively involved in one of the world’s major economic and cultural processes – the One Belt, One Road.  And he also accented that: “From now, on consultations for domestic companies and assistance in participating in many Chinese initiatives and programs, large-scale events of China are becoming available for Ukrainian business”.

    Also, the opening of the One Belt, One Road Center can promote in the future the opening of the CCPIT office in Ukraine. “The Ukrainian-Chinese relations have considerably moved ahead in recent years. We are ready to support the participation of Ukraine in the World Fair in Beijing “China International Import Expo” and many other large-scale events in China. We are also ready to help in establishing ties between the entrepreneurs of our countries. Talks about the organization of mutual visits, the provision of timely information on the situation in the Chinese market, the conduct of joint informative, investment and productive activities, the analysis and provision of information on changes in our legislation which will be able to promote these processes, etc, “said Jiang Zengwei, the chairman of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

    The Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) plays a huge role in the export of Chinese products, totals 160,000 members and interacts with 300 organizations in more than 200 countries. The Committee establishes broad relations with relevant international organizations, trade and investment promotion agencies, associations and the business community to organize various forms of cooperation.

    The 24th of June, “One Belt One Road Initiative Cultural Industries Center of the International Cooperation” hosted in Kiev a delegation of the University of Physical Education and Culture “Shandong Sports University” from Shandong Province, China. The purpose of the visit is to set up cooperation in the sphere of sports between China and Ukraine.

    On the first day, the delegation together with the CEO of the cultural center Guan Xian Mei have visited the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kiev and the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

    The 25th of June at a meeting between higher education institutions discussed cooperation within the new investment project of the PRC government. Also, guests from China had an opportunity to get acquainted with the structure of the university and the field of work of the research institute. They visited the educational and health complex “Olympic style”, the International Center for the Olympic Research and Education. Representatives of two universities discussed the main areas of cooperation in the educational and scientific fields.

    Already on June 26 the cultural center together with representatives of the Chinese University held a meeting with the management of the FFU to discuss cooperation and prospects for the development of football in the two countries. One of the issues at the meeting was the possible exchange of coaches for raising the level of football in the People’s Republic of China and Ukraine. Vice-rector of the Chinese University has told about his interest in the development of Chinese football, giving the opportunity for Ukrainian coaches to work in China. In turn, the first vice-president of the Football Federation of Ukraine Vadim Kostyuchenko has told about the Ukrainian Institute of Football (created on the basis of the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine). Mr. Kostyuchenko reports that their association is ready to cooperate with the University of Physical Education and Culture in China.
